Hershele Sings Yiddish Theater Songs & Popular Folk Tunes Cantor Hershele Lumerman was born in a Polish Shtetl, Bilgoraj and came to the United States in 1951. He studied cantorial nusach at the Belz School of Yeshiva University with Cantor Joseph Malovany, studied privately with Cantor Noah Schall and received his voice training with Franco Iglesias, William Riley and Daniel Gildar. He serves as a volunteer cantor at the Cherry Lane Minyan in Kings Point and works as an oral and maxillofacial pathologist at mount Sinai Medical Center.
